What this notice covers
This notice explains which personal data we process when you visit deeex.de, use the contact form or write to us, why we process it, on what legal basis and for how long. Personal data is any information that relates to an identified or identifiable person.
Hosting and server log files
This website is hosted by Vercel Inc., 440 N Barranca Ave #4133, Covina, CA 91723, USA (“Vercel”). When you visit the site, Vercel’s servers process technical data that your browser transmits automatically and that is needed to deliver the pages:
- your IP address
- the date and time of the request
- the page or file requested and the response status
- the amount of data transferred
- your browser type and version, your operating system and the referring page
We process this data on the basis of Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR: our legitimate interest in delivering the site securely and reliably and in defending it against abuse. It is not combined with other data and we do not use it to identify you. Vercel processes it on our behalf under a data processing agreement.
Because Vercel is a US company, data may be transferred to the United States. This takes place on the basis of the EU–US Data Privacy Framework where Vercel is certified under it, and otherwise on the basis of the EU standard contractual clauses (Art. 45 and 46 GDPR).
Contact form and email
If you send us an enquiry through the contact form, we process the details you enter — your name, email address and message and, if you give them, your company and telephone number — to read and answer your enquiry and to ask follow-up questions. Providing these details is voluntary, but without a name, an email address and a message we cannot answer you.
The legal basis is Art. 6 (1) (b) GDPR where your enquiry relates to a contract or to steps before one, and otherwise Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR: our legitimate interest in answering the enquiries we receive.
The form submits to our server, which passes the enquiry on to us by email through the delivery service Resend (Resend, Inc., USA), acting as our processor; the transfer safeguards described above apply. The website itself does not keep a copy. The same applies to messages you send us directly by email: we process the sender’s address and the content of the message to answer it.
We keep enquiries for as long as we need them to deal with your request and any follow-up, and delete them afterwards unless a statutory retention period requires us to keep them, for example for commercial correspondence that becomes part of a contract.
Protection against misuse
To keep the contact form from being misused, it contains a hidden field that only automated programs fill in, and it checks how quickly it is submitted. Our server also counts requests per IP address over a short period in order to limit abuse. That count is held temporarily in the server’s memory; it is not stored permanently and is not linked to your enquiry. The legal basis is Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR.
Background video
The home page plays a background video, which is delivered from our own hosting. Depending on your browser, it may instead be streamed from the video platform Mux (Mux, Inc., USA). In that case your IP address and technical request data are transmitted to Mux’s servers. The legal basis is Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR, our interest in showing the video smoothly on every device; the transfer safeguards described above apply.
Links to other sites
This site links to other websites, such as LinkedIn and the sites of our projects. When you follow a link, the operator of that site receives your data under its own privacy policy, which we do not control.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you have the following rights in relation to your personal data:
- access to the data we hold about you (Art. 15)
- rectification of inaccurate data (Art. 16)
- erasure (Art. 17)
- restriction of processing (Art. 18)
- data portability (Art. 20)
- withdrawal of any consent you have given, with effect for the future (Art. 7 (3))
You may object at any time, on grounds relating to your particular situation, to processing that we base on Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR. To exercise any of these rights, write to contact@deeex.de.
You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority. The authority responsible for us is the Berliner Beauftragte für Datenschutz und Informationsfreiheit, Alt-Moabit 59–61, 10555 Berlin, Germany (datenschutz-berlin.de).
Security
The site is served over an encrypted HTTPS connection, so what you send and receive cannot be read in transit.
